With the upcoming Earth Hour event and the sheer size of the advertising campaign backing it, will advertising be the mandatory backbone to guarantee a green movement’s success?
As big of a fan as I am of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), I think it is time for each of us to consider our opportunities for contributing rather than consuming. How about a PSR – Personal Social Responsibility movement?

I think that’s an interesting topic. I recall reading an article not too long ago that stemmed from the unveiling of the Apple iPad. In the article, Roberto Verganti argued that user-centered innovation (à la Tom Kelley of IDEO) is essentially dead, and that design-centered innovation is what drives breakthroughs. Heavy stuff to reconcile when you think about how that could apply in our industry. So what drives innovation in our industry? That’s a hard one, but I believe it must necessarily start with a thorough understanding of said technology, a vision to push beyond its limitations, and a lot of guts to actually try it.

Great story - and a brilliant example of how brands can take a small action which creates a big reaction in the consumer. I'm especially delighted because I wrote a piece in September last year called Surprise & Delight - and your experience...

Augmented Reality. What brands/products would truly benefit from such a great, interactive tool?

The new French Connection UK campaign:
“This is the man. He wears the check jacket. Go now, he says.”
“The woman wears not trouser or blouse. But both in one.”
Etc.
Do you love it or hate it?

I would love to see a piece or discussion on what drives innovation in technology. Is it advertising that drives innovation? Is it the Hollywood?
I believe it’s interactive advertising fueled by the need to compete for customer attention that drives technology forward.
Discussion anyone?

FITC. More hype than substance? Does anybody outside of our world now that it exists? Is it just another forum to talk to ourselves?
